How to Request a Design Project and Start Working with Us

Contact us

Suretter Software is a company that specializes in designing software (SW) and hardware (HW) solutions for consumer electronics. Consumer electronics refers to devices used in everyday life for personal and household needs: cameras, headphones, virtual reality glasses, etc. These products are designed for the mass market and are easily accessible to consumers.

From Discovery to Production

We develop customized solutions tailored to your specific needs—from identifying the problem to forming an idea, from prototype to production product. The final product can be manufactured and used within your business, and our goal is to ensure that every product we create provides you with a competitive advantage.
To determine how to bring an idea to life, we begin with a research phase—referred to as Discovery. We estimate feasibility and prepare a detailed technical specification with thoroughly defined requirements.
Next phase is the Development phase. Our team builds the software part of your product, designs the hardware, and prepares the full set of documentation for manufacturing, all based on the approved technical specification.
Once product development is complete, we move to Manufacturing. While manufacturing is handled by our partner factories, we provide full support services: helping to select a factory through a tender process, setting up production, managing quality control, and resolving any issues.

Product Development Stages

Discovery.

Once you reach out to us with your idea, we begin the process of identifying potential challenges, evaluating which technologies to use and whether these technologies are compatible with the project’s constraints (e.g., weight, power consumption, data transfer speed, cost). If the selected approaches are unfeasible, we will suggest alternatives and rework the idea. As a result, we develop a comprehensive solution that considers all types of constraints (financial, time, technological) documented as a technical specification with approved requirements.

We work with various types of projects based on your needs:

  • Proof of Concept (PoC) to assess the feasibility of a technology.
  • Prototype for pitching your idea to investors.
  • Turnkey product development, from research to manufacturing support.

We also provide consulting services for clients that require advice on specific issues.

Development

Once the Discovery phase is complete, we proceed with product development. Unlike purely software projects, consumer electronics development requires a diverse team and coordination across various disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineers (EE) design the hardware, including circuitry and PCB layout.
  • Mechanical Engineers (ME) design the product enclosure, taking into account heat dissipation and other constraints.
  • Application Engineers develop software that controls the device and implements required scenarios.
  • Quality Assurance Engineers (QA) test the product to ensure high standards.
  • Image Quality Engineers (IQ) ensure your device delivers the best image quality on the market.
  • Project Manager (PM) coordinates the entire process.

Key development and manufacturing stages include:

  • Engineering Validation Test (EVT): 3–4 months, 10–20 units.
Building the first working prototypes and validating the concept.
  • Design Validation Test (DVT): 3–5 months, 40–100 units.
Creating fully functional final prototypes and thoroughly testing them.
  • Production Validation Test (PVT): 1–2 months, 100–800 units.
Stabilizing the manufacturing process, final stage before mass production
  • Mass Production (MP).

Each stage may be repeated until all issues are resolved. Timelines and quantities are approximate and may vary by project.

Manufacturing.

Device manufacturing is handled by factories. For prototypes and validation testing (EVT/DVT) we partner with small-batch prototype factories. The cost per prototype unit is significantly higher, often 3–5x the mass production cost. For PVT and MP stages, we work with mass production factories that can ensure the required quality and quantity.

Although we partner with factories worldwide (Taiwan, China, USA, Europe), the final factory choice is always up to the customer.

After completing the Discovery, Development, and Manufacturing stages, you will receive a finished product ready to increase your business’ profits. Our extensive experience and continuous contact with industry leaders give us access to the most innovative technologies, which we are always excited to use in your product.

F.A.Q.

  1. Do you manufacture SoC or image sensors?
No, we design PCBs and use only off-the-shelf components from suppliers. Custom SoC or image sensor design is too expensive for most projects.
  2. We need only one specific driver to finish our product—can we work with you?
Yes, you can request this as a separate service.
  3. Do you sell ready-made cameras?
No, we are design house, not a factory or product-based company. However, we oversee the production by helping you choose a factory from our partners and even organize component procurement.
  4. What is your pricing model?
We use a Time&Material model: we estimate a budget before development starts and invoice monthly for actual hours spent and necessary materials.
  5. What level of design complexity do you handle?
We can handle highly complex projects, such as 12+ layer HDI (High-Density Interconnect) PCBs.
  6. How much does a multilayer prototype cost?
Manufacturing in Taiwan costs approximately $10–$20K (excluding design services, shipping, and customs).
  7. We have a limited budget. Can we pay via future royalties?
We are open to this model but need to assess the product and risks, as we would be co-investors expecting ROI from future sales.
  8. How can I estimate product cost?
Costs vary based on product requirements. You can contact us for a rough estimate. Note: most of the cost comes from production stage:component sourcing, factory line setup, equipment procurement, and logistics.
  9. How can we reduce manufacturing risk?
We offer risk-buy procurement: purchasing critical components in advance (before the design is finalized) to avoid future supply issues.
  10. Can manufacturing be done in a specific country?
Yes, you decide where the production will be located. We have partner factories in China, Taiwan, USA, and Europe. Factory specialization and pricing will influence the choice.
  11. Can we manufacture in Kazakhstan?
Absolutely yes. We can help set this up through our partners in Kazakhstan.
  12. Where are you located?
Our main R&D center is in Almaty, Kazakhstan. You can visit our team in the office. We also have a sales office in the USA. For specific tasks, our engineers can travel to your site.
  13. Can we inspect your work?
Yes, you’re welcome to visit our Almaty office (the mountain view from our panoramic windows is amazing).
  14. What type of clients do you work with?
We mainly work with B2B clients, primarily startups, but also with product companies.
  15. Do you participate in tenders (including government tenders)?
No, we do not. However, we can carry out the tender between factories on behalf of our client.
